Reality vs Expectations

Ugly isn't about lack of make-up or fashionable and trendy clothes.
Ugly isn't just about feeling like complete bullshit when you compare yourself to others.
Ugly isn't just about not having a boyfriend.
Ugly isn't simply an issue of low self-esteem.
Ugly isn't only to be blamed on the media and the image of beauty society has portrayed.
Feeling ugly comes from the very core of your being.
Feeling ugly is about not loving yourself.
Feeling ugly is about being withdrawn, because of an emotion of shame that stems from my deepest, darkest thoughts.
Ugly is about shame.
Ugly is about zero self-worth. Zero self-respect.
Ugly is how I feel about myself. Who I am.
Ugly is what I think when I look in the mirror.
Feeling ugly is about having so many dark, awful secrets you don't feel lovable anymore.
Because you know that once people know they'll treat you differently. Look at you differently.
Then eventually they'll find you ugly too.
